The Importance of Saving Money

What do you normally do with your paycheck on payday? Cash out like there's no tomorrow, and sadly realize you aren't really left with much money, or save a good 25% of your paycheck into your savings account?

Whichever one you do, I just want to get this through your great minds- SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE! Saving will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Yea, it's hard (trust me, I KNOW) but it's totally worth it in the end. You NEVER know when a rainy day may come your way, and it's best to have some emergency money in your piggy bank to help you out during tough times.

Examples?

  1. Your tire popped and you need to quickly buy a new tire.

  2. You lost your job and need to pay for upcoming bills.

  3. You don't have financial aid for a semester and need extra cash to pay for your school expenses.

I can go on and on you guys...

You see why it's so important to save? Do yourself a favor and save at least 25% of your paycheck. (Into a separate account from your checking account of course. If you can, have that account at another branch) If you get paid $200 save $50 each time you get paid. DO NOT TOUCH THAT MONEY! IT'S FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY! Allow that money to build overtime, and around that same time next year you should have a total of $600 saved!

Challenge yourself and SAVE SAVE SAVE! I'm doing it, and it's working. You will be well pleased in the end. I promise. :)

XoXo, -Kat
