For those who are in middle school, high school, or college; tonight's blog post will be quite helpful.
Tip #1: Be well prepared! Make sure you have required materials for your specific courses (textbooks, notebooks, etc) If you're in college, I suggest you read the syllabus in advance.
Tip #2: Plan Ahead! If you know there will be traffic at a certain time, make sure you leave early so you can get good parking, and of course be on time for class.
When starting a new school year, or academic year, always start off with a positive mindset. If last semester, or last school year was horrible, remember to brush your shoulders off and start afresh. This is your time to have a brand new start. Make it great!
If you ever find yourself losing focus, remind yourself of your end goal-receiving your diploma/degree. If you have to draw or print a picture of a degree/diploma & place it on the front of your binder, be my guest! Whatever you need to do to keep your mind on your end goal is helpful.
I know there will come a time where you will stress, cry your eyes out, and want to give up; DON'T! You didn't come this far just to quit. Whenever I am stressed, I honestly give my problems to the Lord. Prayer is what brought me this far, and will continue to for the rest of my life. Also, speak with your teachers/professors/advisors. They are placed on campus for a reason! Speak to them about your uncertainty of specific class lectures, or your grade in the course. If you keep your thoughts all bottled in, you won't receive improved results.
All in all, enjoy your semester! Make connections, get involved, and have fun! (Safe fun of course)
Fun Fact: Students who are involved in school, tend to have better grades, and are a whole lot pleased with school. (Take that into consideration)
-XoXo
